Video blogs (also popularly referred to as Vlog) are not just for
entertainment purposes; as a Vlogger, you can make real money. The beauty is
its simplicity; no over - the-top equipment, no extensive expertise on your
side–all you need is a webcam and the passion to be successful. You won't make
millions of people, of course, but to be honest, hitting a $1000 a month with a
Vlog isn't that far-fetched for someone starting out.
There are people who make
way more than that, of course, but it will take a while and a lot of
dedication. At first, it's best to have a smaller, more achievable goal. If
you're interested in starting and making money with your own video blog, here's
a quick guide to help you get started.
1. Choose a Topic for Vlog
The best way to do this is to choose something you're passionate
about, as in the long run, making it easier for you to come up with new ideas
for video posting and keep going. You don't have to limit yourself to just one
topic, but usually Vlogs focused on one central topicdo much better as they
attract loyal and dedicated followers to make it easier to make money.

2. Buy a Camera
You need a great video / audio playback Webcam to have a video
blog. For this purpose, some choose to use a video camera, but you don't have
to. Keep down your costs and focus, at least in the beginning, on increasing
profit. Admittedly, anytime a video camera shows better image and audio, but
it's a luxury we can do without.
3. Create Videos
Take a moment about how you want to create your videos. Again,
being fanciful is not the necessary prerequisite in relation to the goal of
making money. Often, the job could be handled competently by a simple web cam
and freeware video editing software. Furthermore, the content does not need to
link to any particular subject matter. But if you have specialist knowledge and
are able to tell your story intelligently in an interesting way, you can count
on repeated visits from regular audiences as you work to expand your video
blog's appeal. Needless to say, this can give the arm a shot to boost your
confidence to make money. If you're promoting your product, the goal is to
create content that can naturally link back to anything you're trying to sell.

4. Post Videos
You need to upload them somewhere to get eyeballs to your videos.
It could be your own personal website or public blog site, or just any platform
that does not delete your links. Remember, you're driven by profit, so any site
that prohibits marketing won't help you achieve your goal.
5. Promote Your Videos
Active promotion and application of SEO (search engine
optimization) would bring more traffic to your vlog and thus increase your
earning potential. The volume of traffic is the only thing that matters (in
addition to your video, creativity, etc, but these are fundamental), the sure
way to boost potential income is to attract traffic to your vlog. Promotion
must be the next big think on your list. Traffic generation is beyond the scope
of this post, but to set you in the right direction, check out my guest post on

6. Make Money from Your Video
If you don't have any clue about monetization, Google Adsense may be a good starting
point. Signing up is a breeze, as Google seems serious about making things easy
and straightforward to ensure your success. Google's game plan is to serve ads
after ads when people watch video. The more popular your video blog becomes,
the greater the chances of making more money.

7. Post Regularly
This may sound fundamental, but if there is little update, some
people don't realize they're going to lose traffic and money. In fact, even if
you update monthly, your traffic could be greatly depreciated. If possible, do
regular updates and work with fixed schedules so that users know when to expect
them. Consistent and regular communications with your users make sense as they
could post your link elsewhere, giving you the next level of access you
wouldn't normally have. And this is a great help in moving your blog up the
search engine rankings.
